Screen flickers due to monitor resolution set too high.
Cause:
The selected resolution is not supported by the monitor. Selecting a higher resolution than recommended by the monitor manufacturer may cause damage to the monitor.
Solution:
Lower the resolution in the 'Display Properties' dialog box.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click on the 'Display' icon. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Settings' tab.
5) Click 'Change Display Type...'. (The 'Change Display Type' dialog box appears.)
6) Click the 'Change...' button in the 'Monitor Type' section.
7) Select the 'Show all devices' radio button.
8) Select a lower resolution from the 'Models' list.
NOTE: The currently selected resolution is highlighted.
9) Click 'OK'.
10) Click 'Apply'. (The 'Systems Setting Change' dialog box appears.)
11) Click 'Yes' to enable the settings immediately.
12) If the flicker still occurs, repeat the above steps, lowering the resolution each time.
